2 RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. magazine: PORT. it's a quarterly, british, all-around (design, fashion (though predictable for this kind of monocle genre, the images are very cinematic), art, architecture, literature, politics, etc) with a focus not particularly on any one of those but just of beautiful things. the journalistic photo essays are really interesting and moving... also the writing is beautiful. much broader than the 'men's magazine' it calls itself. i first came across it in a grocery store in östermalm and stopped because the cover was so beautiful. this is the third issue:

2. store: African Touch, Hornsgatan 64B. i'd been after large mugs for a while but couldn't find any i liked-- this ceramic mug is one of a ton of different styles there, made by a group of artists in south africa, and i want all of them. the bottom of the mug is signed by, i assume, the artist who made it. anyway, if you're in the area check it out, the things aren't cheap but the quality is excellent, they're gorgeous, and they support the artists. this mug was 349kr. if your place is super scandinavian minimal, small things like this will add a lot of personality...
